Land Use Academy of Utah (LUAU)

LUAU’s website contains online resources to train, inform, and educate elected and appointed officials and the general public in statutory land use issues and best planning practices. Since its launch in 2015, the site has been managed by the Utah League of Cities and Towns (ULCT) and supported by several stakeholders, including the Office of the Property Rights Ombudsman.  In late 2023, ULCT and the Ombudsman's office formally agreed to shift management of the site to the newly-appointed Statewide Land Use Training Director, housed within the Office of the Property Rights Ombudsman, with the intent to have the site expanded to serve as the central repository for land use training, information, and education materials for the entire state.  ULCT and the additional stakeholders remain actively engaged in creating, supporting, and collaborating on the many resources housed within LUAU.

The updated website is currently under development and is anticipated to be released in Spring 2024.  You can access the current LUAU website and resources here .  The update will not change the URL, so look for updates, additional content, and resources in the near future!

In the meantime, please see below for current topics and content that will have their final home on the updated LUAU site, which are placed here for easy reference.
